Sonic the Hedgehog #255 page 18 by theFranchize Sonic the Hedgehog #255 page 18 by theFranchize
Hey guys! I am finally getting around to posting these Sonic the Hedgehog pages from issue 255 that came out back in November. It was a dream job to work on. Sonic is a great character and it was sureal to be working on such a huge property.

This is probably my favorite page from the entire book. It really took a while to get comfortable with the characters and when I got to this page I really felt like I hit my stride.

Oh cool, you put this up! I love seeing how comics are put together, and I noticed a few interesting differences between this one and the final product. Bunnie post-deroboticization was changed to match the original scene, and the wedding ring was added to her finger. Funny how seamlessly they can add stuff in down the line! I agree with you, this is a very powerful scene, and it's easily my favorite 'remembering' scene!

...also, I uh, made my own version of this page. Being up front with you, I did it partly out of dissatisfaction with your work on the book, but I hope you don't take it too personally. You're a way better/more experienced comic artist than I am, but as you mentioned, switching over to the "Sonic style" can be a rough transition! Plenty of pros who are used to more "realistic" proportions have been put off by the art style, as showcased in the infamous "Pro-Art" pages of the earlier comics. I, on the other hand, went backwards and learned how to draw in the Sonic style before learning the fundamentals, so, uh, this was the end result: fav.me/d73vpwh

Anyways, hope you like it, and keep up the good work!

P.S. Plz don't kill me XD

Bunny was my favorite to draw! I use heavy 11x17  bristol paper for comics. you can usually find a pad of comic book paper at an art supply store
